Seeds & Sprouts: A Day in the Garden

Roll up your sleeves and come grow with us! Boca Raton Urban Gardens invites kids and families from all schools and ages, including our youngest gardeners, to a hands-on morning at the Susan Whelchel Community Garden.

This time we’re focusing on one garden bed and building it from the ground up:

- Fresh Soil Delivery: We’ll drop in a load of fresh soil and see what healthy garden soil looks and feels like.
- Mix It Up: Kids grab a shovel or trowel and help mix the soil so it’s ready for planting.
- Seeds: Each child will plant seeds and learn how to care for them as they sprout.
- Sprouts and Starter Plants: We’ll also add young starter plants so the bed has something growing from day one.

Our garden lesson: We feed the soil so the soil can feed the plants!

Come ready to get your hands a little dirty and have some fun. Closed-toe shoes and clothes that can get muddy are recommended.
